Workshops with Kira Slye February 15 and March 1 and 8



Kira Slye is a sculptor, mixed-media artist, jewelry artisan, and digital designer.  She is bringing some great mixed media workshops to the new T2T Studios, 1064 NW 53 St, Ft Lauderdale, next to the Creative Reuse Center.

TerraCycle Program Expanded




Trash to Treasure partners with the Broward College and TerraCycle  to collect nontraditional items for reuse and recycling.  TerraCycle pays for these materials and Broward College uses the revenue to fund the Michelle Lawless Scholarship which provides tuition for a student majoring in Environmental Science.

This list of materials collected has been expanded!  See the list below.


You can also drop off materials at any Broward College campus financial aid office, student life office or the south campus library.

Trash to Treasure Teams with GoodTwo to Raise Funds

Trash to Treasure has teamed with goodtwo™ to raise funds. 

goodtwo™ is a subsidiary of CoupMe. The team at CoupMe shares a background in nonprofit fundraising, and when they realized that group buying could be used to raise money for great causes around the country, the idea for GoodTwo was born.

Camp Live Oak: Help Wanted

Our friends a Camp Live Oak are filling a great summer position.  Experience with Trash to Treasure materials might be a plus.



Arts & Crafts Counselor
We are looking for an independent-working, organized, and creative Art & Crafts Coordinator to work with children ages 5 to 13 in an outdoor camp setting. This is a part-time position for 10 week, plus additional planning time during spring. He/she must be able to develop, coordinate, and implement age appropriate projects, with a strong focus on recycled and nature related arts. A passion for the environment is a plus! There is a budget for materials and the coordinator will be responsible for maintaining supply inventory and budget invoices. An outline of all projects is required prior to the start of camp. Our camp has been in South Florida for over 20 years and has an excellent reputation for educational activities and fun adventures, so the ideal candidate will love working with kids, the environment and of course, art!

Pay Rate: TBD
2 Locations: Ft. Lauderdale and N. Miami Beach

Requirements:
• MUST have experience TEACHING art to children. Sample of previous works a plus.
• Must be able to work entire summer camp season: June 13th-Aug 19th
• References required

Papier Mache Class Starts January 8

The first of our workshops at our new STUDIO location behind the Center (1064 NW 53rd St) kicks off this Saturday January 8 at 10 am until 12 pm.

This first of a 4 weeks of workshops every Saturday for Papier Mache creations will focus on designing an idea and building the base structure. Following Saturdays will have you getting your hands into the papier mache, and finally painting and embellishing.

Suggested LOVE donation of $5 for T2T members (their kids free) and $10 for non-members (kids $3). A family event recommended for supervised kids ages 4 and up.
