Thanks to our partners for helping make the Trash2Art 2012 reception a zero waste event for the second year in a row.
By employing different tactics, we are able to eliminate any discards from entering the waste stream.
Our food sponsor Whole Foods, Fort Lauderdale is providing finger foods to reduce the need for dishes and flatware. The dishes that we do have are reusable.
Choice, Broward County's facilities recycler, will recycle the traditional single-stream materials like wine bottles and carboard boxes.
Florida Atlantic University's Mission Green volunteers will be on hand to direct visitors what to do with their trash. At the end of the evening, they will take the compostable waste to their FAU compost facility to be used in their urban gardens.
Our plastic cups, left overs from the CityLink Beerfest, will be upcycled by TerraCycle through our partnership with Broward College. Revenue for the cups from TerraCycle funds an Environmental Science Schloarship.
Thanks to Rehrig-Pacific for providing carts for the event.
We'll see you at the reception, Thursday, August 16 at ArtServe 1350 East Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, 6-8PM
