Lowe's Accepts Plastic Plant Containers for Recycling and Reuse

Black, plastic plant containers which are an item generally not accepted in curbside recycling programs can now be brought back to Lowe's.

After an incredibly successful test program, Lowe's has expanded the program nationwide.  Not only is Lowe's recycling the containers, they are reusing the trays and pots that are in good condition.   From the press release:

Serviceable trays are recovered and reused in the growing, shipping and sale of live plants. Material not deemed reusable is crushed, banded and sent for recycling.
Lowe's will also accept your rechargeable batteries, cell phones, compact fluorescent light bulbs and plastic shopping bags for recycling.  Visit their recycling center at the front of the store.
