AT&T will no longer be automatically sending white pages to your home. See the Miami Herald story here. The yellow pages will still show up as before.
The real question is: what took so long? It costs money and uses precious resources to produce something that people don't want to be in or cluttering up there house. Also, there is no listing for cell phones and more people are moving away from the landline everyday.
So, the relevance is disappearing. ATT still makes money on the yellow pages thus it has some life but this is the beginning of the end of the "book".
